I’m Isabella Littleford—a dedicated style expert who’s spent years diving deep into where designer taste meets day-to-day life.
Backed by 10+ years in style and design, I’ve had the honor of honing my craft in Paris, the capital of couture and working alongside top-tier global designers. This journey has shaped my eye for luxury-level detail, forward-thinking design, and pieces that last. I’ve always been captivated by Golden Goose sneakers, a brand that effortlessly marries a distressed, lived-in vibe with luxury-level build quality. In this article, I’ll be sharing my personal take on various Superstar variants, highlighting their aesthetics, practicality, and adaptability.
Whether you obsess over every new drop or just want a reliable fashion-forward pair, I’m here to help you understand the appeal with knowledge gained through a decade in the field. Come with me as we unpack what sets these sneakers apart!
Not too long ago, I picked up my first-ever pair of Golden Goose sneakers (which I originally featured in this post), and have been asked a lot about them ever since. So many that I thought it was time for a full review! I’ve also had them long enough that I feel like I have a good grip on their quality, and a number of other aspects about them, which you’ll find explored in this post.
So I’m diving into a bunch of popular FAQs, as well as how to grab them for less, in the sections below! Also, if you’re interested in more try-ons and reviews, have a scroll through my comparison of Abercrombie and Agolde jean shorts, Goyard tote bag breakdown, and thoughts on the Dudley Stephens fleece pullover!
Where did you score your pair?
Cettire had them on sale and I jumped on it right away!
Placed my order on the 28th of April and they were shipped to me by the 30th, so the shipping was really quick .
How expensive are golden sneakers they?
I snagged a pair for $385.43, though they usually go for around $513.91.
You can expect to pay between $410 and seventeen hundred depending on their level of detail.
How does the sizing run?
I’d say they fit true to size, based on my pair.
They haven’t stretched much, so if you’re between sizes, I’d go up a size

How comfy are they?
They felt good almost immediately. No-show socks help with the break-in period, especially since my feet get sweaty. They’re made with real Italian leather, so it’s much more pleasant than breaking in fake leather. Bonus, they’re already distressed so your feet just adjust easily.
How durable are they?
Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about scuffing them more. I’ve worn them all over the city, and they’ve held up beautifully. Nothing has torn, and the leather hasn’t stretched. Thanks to the vintage look, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
How do they compare to other sneakers?
These are the best sneakers I own. I wear Vejas and Tretons too, but Golden Goose are just on another level. They include a built-in arch bump that adds a little height — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re not mass-produced, so each pair is unique. And the glitter on mine? Stunning.
Would you buy again?
Yes! Just try not to pay full price. They’re expensive, so getting them with a promo is worth it. I’d pay several hundred for the quality, especially if you find a style that suits you. I went bold with sparkle, but a neutral version would also look great.
Discount sources?
Here are the spots I found most reliable. I had a amazing experience with GGoose.org, so I suggest them first.
- GGoose.org – the place where I bought my pair!
- Gilt – membership is free!
- Vestiaire Collection – you can receive $50 off your first app order of $150 or more by using code WELCOMEUS50
- The Real Real – an amazing source for new or gently used Golden Goose shoes at low prices

I’d say they fit just right, based on my pair. Since they don’t stretch and half sizes aren’t available, I’d recommend sizing up.
Is the comfort worth it?
They felt good right away. No-show socks help with the break-in period, especially since my feet get sweaty. They’re made with real Italian leather, so it’s much more comfortable than breaking in fake leather. Plus, they’re already broken-in so your feet just get comfortable fast.

Because they already have scuffs, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and they’ve held up beautifully. No glitter has fallen off, and the leather hasn’t stretched.
Thanks to the vintage look, I can’t even tell if there’s new wear and tear.
